Less to bundle
Electron includes Chromium and Node.js. Tauri uses the system WebView: WKWebView on macOS, WebView2 on Windows and WebKitGTK on Linux. The application no longer needs its own bundled browser engine.
A native core for familiar tasks
SSH, SFTP, the vault and update verification move into compiled Rust code. The interface communicates through controlled core APIs. This creates a native foundation for further development of the server tools.
Smaller packages, but not lower memory everywhere
Removing the bundled engine makes the packages and the installed application much smaller. It does not automatically mean lower memory use: in our first measurement RAM was lower on macOS, but higher on Windows and Ubuntu with modules open. The system WebView remains a prerequisite. The measured values are in the article on resource use.

New in Alpha 0.1.1
SSH jump hosts and unsaved connections
Connect through a jump host, including chains of up to three saved hosts, with a host-key check at every hop. A manually entered target can be used without saving it.
Two terminals and background availability checks
Arrange two terminals side by side or stacked, on the same or different servers; hiding one keeps its session running. Availability checks probe the SSH TCP port without logging in. Jump-only targets need an open jump session; otherwise they remain unverified. An unreachable port does not prove the server is down.
One to three file panels and server transfers
Each panel can show the local disk or an open SSH session, with Monaco editing. Server-to-server data streams through this computer without being saved to its disk. The queue supports pause, resume, cancellation and conflict handling.
Moves verified with SHA-256
A source file is deleted only after SHA-256 verification succeeds and the source has not changed. Otherwise the file stays and the queue explains why.
Hardware details, session choice and 42 languages
System Monitor lists CPU sockets and GPUs or accelerators, using NVIDIA and AMD metrics where available; missing values remain unavailable. Modules use the sole connection automatically, or ask you to choose among several, without switching servers themselves. The interface supports 42 languages, including right-to-left layouts.
What remains outside the Alpha
Port forwarding, remote archive extraction and dragging from Finder or Explorer are not available yet. Transfers are not direct between servers and cannot copy sudo-only files between them. Alpha 0.1.1 has less testing than Beta 0.1.0, particularly on Windows and Linux clients.
